The SRV clock is inspired by the Art Deco era, developed in the 1920s. This era is characterized by geometric shapes and abstract patterns, which became a dominant style in architecture, interior design, fashion and graphic arts. While the SRV is directly inspired by a 1975 model, the design itself was a reinterpretation of Tissot's earlier creations from the 1920s.

The SRV's quartz movement offers precision that gives it the power to move forward with vigour and, with its End-of-Life indicator, the SRV anticipates its next move so it's always ready. Beyond a name, SRV stands for Sapphire Rectangle V: a multi-faceted sapphire crystal with a rectangular outline, and the "V" is a reference to its 5 bar water resistance.
